We were on the Southern Explorer trip in 2026. We would highly recommend Andy and The Safari Company to anyone. We were amazed at how many animals (and birds) we saw and how close we got to them. We saw all the ‘important’ animals, some in great numbers, as well as more ‘minor’ species. The accommodation was all good, some of it was excellent, either by virtue of its location or its overall quality. Breakfasts and dinners at the various hotels were always good, once again sometimes excellent. Restaurants that Andy took us to were of a consistently high standard. Lunches on the truck were fresh and enjoyable, and Nico’s (and Andy’s) cooking for dinners was always delicious; Nico’s divine soups deserve a particular mention. Andy runs a great trip: everything worked well, there were no hassles and we always knew we were in good and safe hands. His care for his clients and his depth of knowledge about all aspects of the journey and obvious love for what he was showing us made for a truly memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone. And on top of that Andy is a top bloke and good host, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

We had an amazing adventure with The Safari Company. Run professionally, like a well oiled machine, thanks to Andy. Great food, fantastic accommodation and an experience where the people of Africa impacted upon me most and the animal encounters came secondary. A life changing experience.
